SLX vs. SLB

So today I thought I would do something a little different for you readers. I'm always telling people I know that if they're looking for something specific, the best place to find it is an online SL shop. There are 2 options that I know of. SL Exchange (a.k.a SLX) and SL Boutique (a.k.a. SLB), both require you to create an account with them that connects to your avatar. They each have terminals where you can deposit your lindens from the game directly to your account to buy online. They each also have an avatar that you can pay, and have the amount added to your account. SLB also has another method, where you get a wallet delivered to you in world, you rez it and it is connected to you. You can then "pay" the wallet to deposit the lindens in your SLB account (just search 'wallet'). SLX allows you to deposit USD by credit card or PayPal.
The first place is was the one I was exposed to very early into my gameplay was SL Exchange http://slexchange.com . I've bought a few things here in the past, but most of the time I use it like a resource guide to find things inworld. To receive and sell items you must first get a "magic box" from the website which is delivered to you inworld. You have to have this box rezzed to buy or sell items. You get great instructions on how to sell your items on the website. Note that SLX takes a commission of between 3-5%.
The second was SL Boutique http://slboutique.com. This one is a bit different from SLX. The search system isn't as refined and there are fewer items. However, SLB does not take a commission from the sellers and there is nothing to rez in world for buying, however you need a vendor to sell your items. There is also the easiness of paying a wallet which is why I joined in the first place. On the main page is also a button that allows you to find all the freebies available.

I think both have pros and cons, really it depends on what you feel more comfortable using, or using both. I have used both and will continue to do so. These places are great for shopping when you're stuck on a slower computer or doing something else at the same time, like working :).

Pink Flamingo (and a black one too!)

I got the landmark for the new artilleri store maybe a week ago. I have always loved Antonia Marat's things, but for some reason, I can't recall ever taking a good look before. I always meant to, but it was something I just never got around to. I had seen ads for the lulu bracelets, so I decided to finally pop in a couple of days ago. I'm so happy I did! I was looking at the new board and saw 2 flamingo necklaces packaged together for 150L. I looked at them and decided to purchase when I noticed the lucky chair was on the letter K. What happened to be the current prize but those very necklaces. It was a sign! So of course I hopped on as quick as can be and grabbed those babies!

I know other people cover artilleri a lot, but since I haven't seen these reviewed, you'll have to let me babble. For 150L you get 2 great prim pieces that can be casual (the pink) or dressier (the black). There is even what appears to be 6 little crystals on the flamingos, above the wing and then one for the eye. It was really difficult to photograph these, so I'm sorry if you can catch the detail on them.
You can check these out in Axel at the main store (205, 192, 704). You might just get *lucky* and walk away with something amazing too! Read more!

I love these shoes!

I have to tell you all about my new favourite shoes. I shop at a lot of different stores, but these are my absolute fave ones, I haven't seen any that give me as big of a shoegasm. These pretty babies are by Minx and are called "Feral Elegance" and go for $500L a pair. That may surprise some people, but what it comes down to is the craftsmanship (the second photo illustrates this more clearly). I love the way it makes my feet look dainty, but please excuse the cankles, they're not my doing! These shoes come in several different textures, but the leopard print was my fave - also comes in a pink and brown leopard print. I love all the details, from the buckle on the straps to the two-tone stiletto heel, it's a girl's perfect pair of pumps! You can get your very own pair, or browse the well-stocked Minx shop at Shepard (19, 50, 108). Read more!
