PanJen has a new store???

With the holidays, I've let my little blog slide a little. Anyhow, yesterday I decided I would go out and see what I found in way of something to blog for you all. I started to TP around with no particular direction in mind when I ended up at PanJen. This has been a fave store of mine (thanks Pandora for those lovely lucky chairs =p) since I worked at club where I needed a rave outfit, prolly within my first 2 months in SL. Anyway...I popped in there last night, and found her store as usual -with blank prims all over the place no less- and a sign that advertised a new store. So, being the detective that I am, I grabbed that LM and went to see this new edifice.

As you can see, the outside gives impact, and I'm no designer or anything, but I liked it. I arrived with this lighting and I like the way it made the building look foreboding. Outside there's also a wonderful snowman build, which is a contest, and people can drop by and build their own masterpiece. If you need a snow texture, you can get it inside the store for free.

After checking out the exterior I entered and was surprised by all the extra space. I supposed Pandora got this place for the space and the ability to grow, her other store was getting a little crowded. She also moved the lucky chairs to this location, giving hoppers plenty of space to loiter. I'm looking forward to what she'll fill this space with...she's got a lot of it!

LE Boots from Lassitude & Ennui

Hi everyone!

Well yesterday's event was great!!! I had a wonderful time and met some nice people in the process too. If you see the previous post, I mentioned that there would be a teasure hunt. Everyone that found the clues got the 2 pairs of LE boots from Lassitude and Ennui. As a participant in the event, I also got the pairs.

So when I put them on I had to do some adjusting, but don't worry, it comes with instructions and takes just a minute or so. If you have trouble with it, Jackal Ennui will do it for you, if you provide her with your shape and the boots you purchased.

As I mentioned, these are limited edition and are only available until December 27, 2006. These pairs are sold together and are $370L. Personally, I think it's worth it. These are great quality and not everyone will be tp-ing around in them, it's nice to have something a little bit more special.

To find them in-world: check out the Nouveau sim (121, 121). Read more!

Nouveau Sim Event

So my little kittens, next Sunday, December 17, at 1:00PM there's going to be a special event at the new Nouveau sim, involving several designers. Who will be showcased? Well there will be Jackal Ennui, Miriel Enfield, Roslin Petion and CJ Carnot. Each designer is having several models to serve sort as "living art" I guess you could describe it. Anyhow, if you know me, you know I love the fashion, and I am definately into the spotlight. So I applied.
Guess what?
I'm going to be modelling for Jackal Ennui!
Not only that, but this two-hour event is rumourd to have some give-a-ways and other fun things, so I'm letting you know a good week in advance. I hope some of you will turn up and make this a really successful event!

UPDATE 12/12: Reading Second Style Fashionista today, I found out some more about the event (you know, I should have just asked Jackal, but I digress...): not only are we celebrating the new sim, but also Roslin and Miriel's rezdays. Also, there will be a treasure hunt with clues provided by us models (aren't you glad you know me). The winner of the treasure hunt will win a bunch of gift certificates. And if you're interested, you are asked to come in costume, the more elaborate, the better :)

Seen in SL

So I'm trying something different today, I'm bringing you 4 people with 4 different looks that I spotted while out and about. I'm not including who designed everything, on account of it would take too long, and no one wants their whole look copied. If you really like something any of my "models" are wearing, send me an IM in game and I'll hook you up.

My first model is Matt Temple. You can see he's got a casual look going on, I just happen to love almost every thing he's wearing! Very cute look for daytime, at the club, shopping or whatever.

Next are Teshi Mikazuki and Ron Finucane. I saw these twos while out shopping one day. Teshi is sporting cute little neko ears and a tail, along with an asian inspired outfit. Shopping with her was Ron, and he was decked out in a hot suit (very 20's) complete with hat and chain. On his side was a katana to complete his pseudo wiseguy look. I love how each pulled difference style elements to make up their own unique look.

And finally we have Argyle Gadsby, which I ran into while I was looking for some hair. Her style is very casual and laid back, while at the same time had an edge to it. Her hair even seemed to have plastic utensils stuck in it (something a RL friend of mine used to do all the time).

A New Post Is On The Way

Yes all my fans (maybe there's 2, lol) I am still alive and kicking, I've just been really busy IRL with work and school. I've done my last final exam for the semester, so I will have a new post for you in the next few days - the latest! Until then, tomorrow November 23 is the last day for the Abstract Avatars charity sale, so make sure to pick one up, even if you'll only use it once in a while, it's for a good cause. Also, I happen to notice some American Cancer Society boxes out and about, including the Ready Or Not club (where I work), feel free to donate what you can to an extremely worthy cause, especially since 'tis the giving season.
Take care munchkins, a new fashion post is on it's way.... Read more!

Naughty, Naughty Hair!

Oh boy, it's been a while since I posted and I am sorry. RL has been very hectic for me recently. So I am going to do a short post on my fave new hair, just purchased minutes ago.
This style is called "Angel I" and it comes in fourteen different colors, ranging from black to platinum blonde. The color I chose is called "Warm Sand". Incidentally its also the color the demo came in. When a demo fits you, is the right color and is flattering, you almost have to get it! The hair was made by Lost Thereian of Naughty Designs. It can be found in the "Influence" shop, which is all hair (yay!), on Naughty Island (128, 128, 0). Read more!

Charity Sale at Abstract Avatars!

Joshua Nightshade of Abstract Avatars has decided to make his annual charity donations go from his small-scale personal donations, to a group effort. He announced on the Second Citizens forums: "100% of sales from October 31st to November 23rd will be given to a charitable organization", later updating that it would be actually 2 organizations: AIDS Research Alliance and Marine Toys for Tots. He added, "I will be releasing next week a special "Holiday Edition" avatar and I intend to price match every sale of it with my own cash, and add this to the general pot."
If you would like to help out, you can purchase an abstract avatar at:

Custom ID Necklace

A couple of months ago I got 2 gift certificates to Ramos Designs from a former employer. Well I finally got around to using them.
I decided to use them at JEWELRY by Ramos Designs, which is owned and operated by xTrojan and Susan Ramos. I looked around the store, and in a corner under a "new" sign was custom ID jewellery. There was bracelets, cuffs, necklaces, etc in male and female styles. Each came in gold or silver. The male style was a plain rectangle with your name (or anyone else's) on it. The female on is oval with little diamonds on each side (see pic. 1)
Also there is optiona bling that goes of from the right side and its really very cute, but if you're anti-bling, it does turn off :) (see pic 2).
The quality of this product is wonderful, and I got it in less than 12 hours after ordering it. All the merchandise in the store looked great, so I'll be back!
You can find JEWELRY by Ramos Designs on Ramos Island (51, 135, 26). Read more!

Revoultion Femme

Wow! I just saw this on the SC forum and I knew I had to blog it. I'm going to use the words of the designer Shiryu Musashi here: "The Revolution Femme set includes 3 suit colors (jacket, skirt and pants), 21 shirt colors, 18 flexi prim ties and 3 lingerie sets (garter, thong, bra, stockings). It has been designed for maximum variation, aiming to represent the ultimate mix 'n' matching experience (you can expect several expansion packs for it in the future) for women's suits. All shirts, suits, ties and lingerie can be combined with each other to create several thousands of different combinations". Also, the skirts, pants and ties are all modifiable so you get the best fit possible.
Like I said, wow! The whole set goes for $800L, and can be found on slboutique.com, slexchange.com and in world at Musashi-Do in Anton (139, 233, 94). You can also buy different suits, shirt packs, ties and lingerie separately if you don't want the whole thing. But, why wouldn't you? :P Read more!

Today Stellar Designs designer Lexi Morgan sent out copies of these gorgeous swimsuits to all the members of her shop's group, also called "Stellar Designs". These are sold together in her store and are transferable so you can give the other swimsuit to your sweetheart. It's a really great idea, especially with the holiday season coming up soon, or just as a gift :)
Lexi does this sort of thing for her group members often, so there is a reason to join the groups of your fave designers...you never know what kind of free swag you'll end up with!

Update: Dazzle's Goodbye Sale!

Well, there is some sad news to share. The amazing Dazzle Haute Couture by Ginny Talamasca is saying farewell to SL. It seems that the girls at Dazzle have decided that it is time to move on to new things. And so to say goodbye, all items at Dazzle are $100L or less! I'm wearing the fairly new "Trendy Girl", which a couple of weeks ago was possibly three times as much (can't remember, sorry!)? Which is soooo cute and comes with mutltiple tops in sweet ice cream-like colors.

Note: The sale is on until SEPTEMBER 30! After that everything will be gone forever....

In Memory of Steve Irwin

I just wanted to point out to my (maybe one) readers, that with the tragic passing of Steve Irwin, one of SL's residents has taken the time to create a special tribute. Callie Cline has created a set of male/female t-shirts for any resident that donates $100L and up to Wildlife Warriors Worldwide through donation boxes she has set up in her stores. It seems that she would like you, either alone or with friends, to take a picture in the shirt to be transformed into a collage which will be sent to the Irwin family from all those SL citizens who took part in making a donation.
I would have attached a SLurl, but the site doesn't seem to be working. I hear her store FUNK has the donation boxes, and you can find that in-world using the search function in "All" or search Callie Cline in "People" and check her pics. Read more!

ETD Hair Sale

Upon reading the weekly round-up at Linden Lifestyles (http://lindenlifestyles.com), I found out that ETD was having a clearance sale, with hair 50%! Of course I had to check this out for myself. I ended up buying 4 different styles, 11 separate ones in total. So, I'll give you a little peek-a-boo at what's out there.

Hair #1 I picked up was Sahara II, in the Naturals I pack (thats 5 colors). It's a flexi hair, so the fact that it only cost me $150L for it was a real bargain In the pic I am wearing the color "Chestnut Brown".

The next 3 packs I bought were prim hairs, with 2 colors in each pack. And let me tell you, there is no shortage of imagination and creativity when it comes to the color choices.

Here I am modelling Hottie. I loved the Bettie Paige style pf bangs on this one, so I bought the Black & Black Frost pack for $87L. As you can see, I prefer the plain black one.

The next hair I picked up was Delicate, because I needed an updo of some sort for some hair accessories I recently acquired. This time I went for the warm Honey Blonde & Honey Burnt pack, also at $87L. Very cute.

And last, but not least I chose a short 'do called Kindly. I decided to go for a more wild shade, so I chose the Deep Red & Fire Red 2-pack for $87L. I loved many of the sale items, but I promised myself I wouldn't spend too much.

If you too are interested in some of these hair packs, or want to see what else is available, you can find the ETD Main Store in CoutureIsle (216, 128, 51). If you're a new resident, or just strapped for cash, check out the Discount Shop. The entrance is through the left rear area of the shop. The clearance is on until SEPTEMBER 8 ONLY! Read more!

Love Knot Weddings

Yesterday I went to a wedding with a friend of mine. Now, this was actually the first wedding I have been to, but I have seen other wedding areas in my explorations of SL. I was amazed at how beautiful the setting was...how romantic. Sure, this isn't a legally binding wedding, but if you're going to do it, you might as well do it right!

This first picture is the view before you start to walk down the aisle. It really is a spectacular view. The details are astonishing, with rose petals on the floor, a special wedding walk, and they can provide anything you could want.

Now the second picture is a view of the alter area. Here the couple stands while they exchange vows and rings. A loud speaker allows everyone, even us in the back, to hear what is being said.

I loved the setting this couple chose for their wedding and they seemed to love it even more. Everyone dressed very stylishly, and I would have covered that, but I figured I have to mix it up a bit and show you a location that can help your wedding dreams come true (and no, I didn't get a kick-back for this post). You can find Love Knot Weddings in Great Keppel dAlliez (145, 224, 21).

Congratulations to the newly weds, Vicki Martini and Echo Beaver. I wish you all the happiness in the world, both in SL and RL! It was a beautiful ceremony, one to be remembered by all that attended.

Man Kilts

I do love a man in a kilt, there's something about one that makes me go weak in the knees.

Here's a friend of mine, SymphonicZen Sonic, posing in his kilt. We bought this together on a little shopping expidition we did a while back. He was in need of a kilt, and I, a good adventure. What we got was a place called Tartan Shop located in Lane (220, 119, 29).

This is a very well made flex kilt called "Macrae Dress Tartan" and it was $400L. The creator, Lacy217 McLuhan also made an adjustment of size for my friend.

The poor guy, he had a non-modifiable shape and so some of his bits poked out of the kilt. After the adjustment, he almost looked normal! Although I am still pressing him to get a new shape, his thighs are simply too big (see pic 2)!

This Tartan Shop has other things besides flex kilts. There are also regular mens kilts, utilikilts, both flex and non-flex kilts for women, brogue shoes, and even dance animations. So stop on by if you're looking for something more...unusual.

Nurse Kalia

So yesterday I had a Medical themed event to go to at Death Alley. I wanted to go as a nurse, but not one of those quickly slapped together ones you can get as a freebie (as great as freebies are...). So I searched the SL Exchange (http://www.slexchange.com) and found the perfect outfit for a reasonable price.
From Canimal, in Celestial City (132, 97, 2) I picked up this naughty nurse outfit for a mere $200L, complete with 2 tops and a huge needle to annoy your victims.
I love the detail in this outfit, the only downfall would be the prim attachment for the skirt, because it stands out due to lighting issues within SL. Although if this bothers you much, you can wear the outfit without it and it looks like shorts. I kept it on, maybe because it was part of the overall look. Anyhow, it was a great deal and I love how the bottom of the skirt and the stockings has little clips, as if for a garter. I have to say, this is one of my faourite things so far. Read more!

Camo Bikini

I love this bikini! It's cute, it's simple and it didn't cost an arm and a leg. If memory serves me right (but don't hold me to it) I think it cost me a tiny $50L, which is amazing considering the cut and quality, I would have easily paid double. So glad I didn't.
I love the rear end coverage, as I see it becoming less and less popular. Also its perfect for a moment's notice camo or army event :) Which is why I originally picked it up.
Want one for yourself? Head on over to Heavenly Sin in Parce (147, 75). It's hidden among a million great things, so look carefully.

Flower Platform Corkies

In SL, as in RL, I have somehwhat of a shoe fetish.

Okay, the angle may be a tad off in this photo, but these are some seriously cool shoes. They come in a five-pack, all have the same tan colored base, but the straps and flower detail change color. The pink ones are my favourite of the pack, though I have worn all five options. The creator, Andromeda Raine of Ice Raven Designs, included a note card that suggested setting your foot size to about 5. However, because much prim shoes come in the standard size 0, this is the size i've left my feet at permanently.

Now here is another angle of the flower corkies, where you can better see the style of the shoe. I suppose my foot looks a little small at size 0, but I doubt there would be a noticable difference. Anyhow, if you want to set your feet to 5 and tell me how it looks, that's cool with me.

If you'd like to pick up a pair of these beauties, you can find them at the Coconut Ice boutique on Butterfly Island (141, 171, 27).

Gurl6 hair at the GNUbie Store

For my first real SL shopping post, I'm gonna let you all in about one of my fave aspects of SL...the hair! (or wigs as they are known by some)
This, to the left, is "Pout" in dirty blonde by Gurl6. Now this isn't your run-of-the-mill hair, its also only $1L for a pack of 4! This was in the "Dirties" pack, and all colors come in both small and large.
It also comes in two other 4-packs, "Berries" and "Pinks", which are also just $1L each.
They can be found at the Gnubie store in Indigo (201, 62, 38), which is quite easy to find using the search function. While you're there, you'll find plenty of other things to keep you happy, from clothes, to skins and even a pool. All items are free, $1L or much below regular retail price.
Happy shopping! Read more!

My First Post...

So, this is my first time "blogging".
I have a blog on my personal MySpace page, but I use that for rants mainly. And it can be weeks or months between posts.
Anyhow, this blog isn't really about me, it's about my Second Life® avatar Kalia and my increasing shopping addiction in SL.
IRL, I'm a very picky shopper, and there's nothing I like more than a bargain. The same thing applies to me in SL, but I seem to have more $L than money to spend. So I live vicariously through my av and live out my fashion dreams!
LOL.
Sorta crazy, I know.
But SL isn't just a "game" as non-players may think, its an alternate reality.
Here, I'll let you all in on my favourite finds, shops, gadgets and so on.

Let the blogging begin! Read more!
